Awesome ride. By far the my most favorite Boyd ride yet. I am sure EVERYONE would love it if you could post some pics and your plans for the car.

I just got a chance to watch the show last night, i admit i kept rewinding at the end of the episode when the car is rolling out, it looks great !
The only thing i couldnt figure out was is the car street legal? i assume so b/c of the ac and all of the work that they put in to the interior (why would you do that to a drag only car) but i never saw any headlights or anything that it seems like you would need to be street legal.

TwinSting,
Welcome aboard here. I am sure you have been keeping up with the other thread about your car so you already know how I feel about it. :icon996: I look forward to seeing it in person one day.
BTW: What about the VIN? Will it be titled as a kit car or how will the car be registered? That was a question I had when I saw the show.

Andre,
Check www.nelsonracingengines.com
I believe they have a few pictures of it on their website. No Discovery Channel here in Italy, but at least we can get Top Gear on BBC.

That car is the perfect example of why you should follow those cars on that show to the end before passing judgement on them. I had dismissed it as a Pro-Street car after seeing the elaborate cage structure and big fat tires on the back. But after watching the final episode it became apparant that this car detracted quite a bit from a traditional Pro Street configuration. The end result was absolutely spectacular and much more closer to a Pro-Touring car than the latter.
Twin...I feel bad about saying I'd rather have 'Crazy Horse' on the other site. After seeing the final episode, I'd take your car over that Mustang any day. You should seriously consider entering it in the Detroit Autorama for the Riddler Award.

Thanks for all the comments on my car. Very soon I will post some pictures and more info on the complete car.The car is still not complete. I know I am pushing the envelope of pro-touring and pro-street but I feel that is hot rodding. The big rear tires are only 16 wide not the big 18 or 21 M/T Sportsmans of yesteryears prostreet. I actually am working with M/T on their new Radial tire that we debuted at SEMA this year which will come in several widths and accept a 20" diameter rear wheel!! Should be on the car in the next couple months and available to the public by July. As soon as I take delivery of the car in the next few weeks I will also let you all know how it drives and performs. The car should handle well with the independent front and rear suspension. I will also have to put some highway and town miles on it to figure what gears will work best in the quick change rear end with the G-Force 5 speed and all that torque and horsepower.
Thanks again for all the comments and no offense is taken to others opinions as I think we all feel we would do something different to each others cars if they were ours. That is what makes them unique!
The car is street legal and will see plenty of street use. They did not show on AHR many details including the headlights below the bumpers in the grill area. I am actually considering running on the 1/4 at Pomona for the SuperChevy show this year too. Hopefully I will take delivery of the car in the next couple weeks and then be able to put some miles on it and get use to it.

I was going to ask you in the other thread if the tires on it are the new M/T's on the car. I saw something about them on some show, as they were covering SEMA. Are the tires that were seen on AHR prototypes, or just something close to use until the new Mickey Thompsons are ready?
I said in one of the other threads, but it's worth repeating: The line between the new Pro Street direction and Pro Touring is going to get blurry. As in TwinSting's case, if the car can do all things competently it's hard to discount it just because it technically fits the "other" category a bit better. There are also FOUR threads on this Pro Touring forum dedicated to his "Pro Street" Vette so... :bananna2:

That's what worries me. I'm not saying it's wrong to adapt our trends...I think it's good for Pro-Street. But you better give credit where credit is due. Don't be slapping 13" brakes, big sway bars, and 18 inch wheels on your cars and say it was just a natural progression of Pro-Street. Tell em where you got em!

The tires onthe car now are just something to pass the time until useable prototypes of the M/T radial are ready. I hope to have them by June and they will take a custom 20x13 rear wheel to replace the 17x13 on it now.

Twin Sting, I was interested in what brand bucket seats were used in your car. One beautiful car by the way...
Congratulations on yur car by the way...I saw your engine at Nelson's shop the day before delivery---unbealivable!! That thing will feel awesome at the top of 3rd. Question, I saw you had some very specific ideas in regards to your interior, I noticed the center console and was wondering if that is a custom piece or something from a production car. I am in the midst of designing my interior and I am looking for something similar. Let me know, and congrats once again.

The seats started as Keoing seat that were cut down and re-shaped before being cover in leather and suede. As for the center console it was a custom fabricated piece. All the switches for power windows, a/c, and ignition are located in the center console glove box to keep them out of site. Also they fabricated a hidden compartment in between the seats that leads to a cubby hole between the rear tubs for storage.
