Thought I'd share a few pics with you all of the Regal.

She aint a Pro-Tourer "yet" but it's something to start with..

Any suggestions?

You really should take that 455 out, and put in an LS1. :)

Just kidding, nice to see a Buick with a big Buick engine!!

cheers

looks just like my (and my little brother's, i sold it to him) old 82 regal. Jadestone metallic paint and all, at least it looks like jadestone anyway. mine would always look really, really green on overcast days but charcoal gray any other time

Yep if I paint it one color I'll forget where I parked it:scared:

fast Ed

Beleive it or not I have had people say that, yep put a small block chebbie in it and also telling me to put one in my 86 GN something about going faster?:lmao:

Yep that jadestone kinda grows on ya, dont know if I'll keep that color tho, or even if I paint it.
My son states I should
paint it flat Black and get it lowered.
The lowered part I agree on.

that's funny because that's exactly what happened to mine when i gave it to my brother, he primered it with DP-90 and never got around to painting it.

Mine looks like a 4x4 riding on 205/65/15's in the front and 275/60/15's in the rear
(see the gap between the top of the front tire and the wheel opening?)

Now this is the Lowered stance my son and I agree upon this is "SWEET!!"

Its Rolling on the same size as mine 275/60/15's rear and 26" tall fronts.
I like how those 28"tall rears fill up the rear wheelwells on our cars.
Just don't know how those size tires would do with a Pro-Touring style set up, IE::: twisties and some salom course playing.
Too much sidewall?

well my my old went through 2 extremes, lower than most lowriders because of the worn out stock springs and 185/70-14 tires to 4x4 after my brother got it with new HD springs front and rear and 235/60-15 tires, although the 235's were the perfect tire for that car, it just needed to be lowered 1.5-2" all around. i had 235/60-15 front and 275/50-15 rear tires on my 69 stang and they handled great and were the same exact height, but the rear spring were worn out and i had some cheesie shackles on it to keep the rear end up high enough to not rub the tires, had the same wheels and tires on my old 70 cougar with a more reasonable ride hieght for a while and they looked perfect and the car handled great, even with stock suspension but stiffer gas shocks

You`ll probably want to upgrade to at least 17" wheels. The selection of performance handling tires in 15" sized that would fit that car is almost nil. In 17" the world is your oyster and you`ll have room to upgrade to real brakes too. If you want give me a call at the shop we do a LOT of G bodys and have a couple G body test cars too I can help you out with wheel and tire fit etc.

A note about the Buick motor. GNs are fast with a little tweaking to their single turbo 231 v6. A .030" over 455 is a 462 which is 231 x 2. Give you any ideas? Heh heh heh. I had collected all the parts to do a twin turbo 462 Buick back in the late 80s but never got it done. I`d still love to see someone do it. :) Mark SC&C

what would you call that? and a GN-XS or a GS-XR (yeah i know about the bike reference) i kinda like GN-XS personally, would also make a great license plate too.

i kinda always wanted to get an old Macho T/A and update it with EFI and better turbo systems just for the hell of it.

as for the lack of 15" performance tires, it's true there ain't a lot of choices but if you do some digging you can find some pretty good ones actually. i found quite a few on tirerack.com. they have a neat feature that will show you all size tires for a given rim diameter and there are quite a few more performance tires than most people think. Pirelli even makes a 315 or 335 wide Scorpion tire in 15" and BFG and Mickey Thompson both have some pretty wide drag radials and there are still quite a few R compound 15" sizes as well.

i think i'll probably stay with a 15" size for my street tires and have a set of 16" for track duty myself
