That is the question. Well I am considering supercharging my Nova. But I have a couple questions first.
With my current engine setup, what do you think is should/have to change to make it adequate for boost?

Blue Printed and Balanced 388 w/ 10.25:1 Hyper pistons
Comp Cam Extreme Energy Hyd. Cam
.477"/480" Lift, 224*/230* @.050 268*/280* Adv. Dur., 110 L/C
Comp. Cams Roller Tip 1.6 rocker arms
Dart Iron Eagle Heads 200cc Intake Runners 2.02"/1.60 Valves
Edelbrock RPM Airgap Intake Manifold
Holley 750 CFM Carb Double Pump Mechanical Secondaries
MSD Distributor and Ignition w/ 6000rpm Limitor
Hooker Headers Competition Headers

I know that my cam will bleed off some pressure, but is it too much? If not is my compression too high?
If so should I consider one of the copper head gaskets? Or will that throw off my quench?
What charger do you recommend?
And any other info you can throw my way is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Jon.

Too much comp and not enough overlap.
The hypers are good for up to about 5 psi max.
What is your bottom end and what are your goals?

Not enough to make 10.25/1 do-able.
Intercooling is good for a couple PSI. I dont likt water injection. What if a fuse blows, or you run out of methanol. Hello Knock.

If you have a remote adjustable wastegate the alky/meth/wateer systems are good as they are not constantly required, but that becomes an increasingly complex and expensive system. Intercooling is the best for a street car and constant use vehicle.

I really don't mean to hijack but I would like a low boost for my current 10.6:1 410 sbc. Just another 100 hp :)

I was looking for a crutch to get me by for now. Maybe a drum of race gas to mix in.

Give it the Giggle Juice (spray) if you are looking for another 100hp just to hold you over!:jump:
