EDP coating

I have inner fenders and part of my floor still in EDP coating. Is it absolutely necessary to strip it off and paint it? or can you leave it on?

Can anyone offer guidance here? I'm unsure what to do in regards to the EDP coating

I always have my painter check the adhesion first. As long as the coating is on there good than just sand with 320 and seal/paint as you would a new part.We do a lot of oem part replacement at my shop and have never had a problem doing it this way.This is an approved process for Dupont.
