Does anyone make a carbon fiber hood for 1969 Camaros?
Any help would be great.

Give me a flat hood that fits and is block sanded and I'll make it in carbon fiber and give you the first one for free (maybe Tyler's '68 would work). This goes for anyone who wants a hood that I percieve as having a market for.:twothumbs

Would you be willing to make some cowl induction Nova hoods? I wanted to get a carbon cowl induction hood, but I had to settle for fiberglass since only a few companies made them in carbon fiber and the general consensus was they were crap.

Yes, I would. Which years were you thinking? Do you have one that fits? I would only be interested in making a 2" cowl hood.

Unfortunately mine is slightly raised in the back due to worn hinges...and it's a 4". Though I've seen a LOT of Novas (specifically 68-74) with cowl induction hoods so I'm sure there's a market for real carbon fiber hoods.
I'm going through some financial troubles right now, but I see you're located in Los Angeles? Once I get some money, I'd be willing to buy a 2" cowl induction hood and drive over to let you take measurements and make molds and do whatever you had to do. And possibly make a matching carbon fiber cowl like you have for Camaros. :worship:
EDIT: I'm in San Bernardino, BTW, so it's definitely no problem for me.

I want in on that deal! Too bad there would be little to no market for that type of hood with my car. How much would a one-off cost?

O.K let me get this right. if we give you a hood that fits ( do you mean a new hood or one that has been fitted to our car?) i will buy a new hood for my 79 camaro or my 70 nova and ship it to you for the CF treatment. cuz that sounds like a great deal to me, and how is the sec gen camaro cowl hood coming along?

Here's the deal. I am only interested in doing production runs of at least 10 of any single part (unless someone has silly money for a one off hood for a Belvedere or something of that nature). So, if I percieve there is a market for something (hood or whatever) I need a pattern to make mold from. That can be an original part, reproduction part, something made out of paper mache and bondo, what ever, but it needs to fit exactly and be in primer blocked out so there are no ripples. All of the dents, holes factory spot welds, etc. filled and sanded smooth. Basically a part that is prepped for paint for a really nice custom car with gaps and fitment just the way is should be (no amature jobs). This takes the most time and is why it takes us so long to make a new part and why a lot of aftermarket hoods, etc don't fit or look right. This is also the most critical step. I would need to see copious photographs of the part on a car that shows it fits and is straight and smooth. If you live close enough we could meet up to see it on your car (ideal). If anyone can deliver a part like this to me and I agree up front that there is a market for it, I will pay for the mold and give that person the first part as long as I have rights to make as many as I want and keep the original pattern (in case I need to make more molds) I am not laying carbon fiber over the top of steel hoods here, I am producing custom parts from a mold.

That all makes sense, but would you be able to perfect the fitment? Just wondering, if nobody else local is willing to let you use their 2" Nova hood as a mold, if I'd have to take mine to a paint shop or if I could just drive over and have you do it so you get it to your liking.

Anybody who is interested in sending me their hood to use as a pattern, please e-mail me good pictures of the hood on a car showing gaps and surface as good as you can. My e-mail is:
[email protected] We'll start there and if all looks good, we'll try to set something up. Thanks! I am interested in '69 Camaro flat hood, 68-72 Nova 2" cowl induction, 70-72 Chevelle cowl induction (no flap) & 67/68 & 69/70 Mustang.
