I'm 18. Going from this post it seems like there are a lot of younger guys on this board, but most of the older guys just haven't replied. I'd guess the average age of the board to be around 31.

I grew up a son of a street rodder and have always loved hot rodded classics...but until 2.5 years ago I had never owned one...I wish I had bought one years ago, just think of all the fun and knowledge I missed out on....I think it's great you younger guys are into the true mussle cars...and PT at that!! :)

Didn't realize there were SOOOOO many younger! I wanted a first gen f-body since I was 10. Finally had my own means and my own place to work on it so I got one at 26. Should've never walked away from the first 69 Camaro I went to test drive when I was 16.....

Jeez, I do feel old 39 going on 40 in 1 month! They say your body goes to ***** when you hit 40, that's fine, got a mind of a 20 year old. Always will. :headbang: :) I am really glad to see all the younger generation getting into the musclecars! My 14 year old son just got a Turbo Mitsubishi Conquest and is getting into the rice burners. They think those are sooo coool! Wait till the Camaro is done and I take him for a RIDE! He'll change his mind then. :)

Boy, I thought most of the people here were in their 30's-40's based on the cost to buy and built P-T cars. No way I could have afforded to built my '69 Camaro with what I was making when I was 20-25.

I'm glad to see classic cars are getting in the hands of the younger guys. :icon996:

I guess I'm one of the older ones at 36. :banghead: Oh well.

I turned 30 this summer...which blows, 'cause I can't say I'm in my 20's anymore when the girls ask. Oh well. I'm glad to see all the younger guys showing interest too. This is my 2nd '69, I had one in High School too. I went to an Import show this weekend, it stunk. All the cars there were basically body-kit clad imports...only a few had real engine work done. Mostly bling and neon. Yuck. Glad some of you are seeing the light!!

Well I guess I am probably keeping the average, average. I am 31. Of the 11 cars I currently own (I insure 6 of them too) only 1 is younger than I am. Luckily my parents were smart and bought me a 68 camaro project when I was 14 (I still have the car), it has pretty much been downhill since....

It is very nice to see people younger than myself working to keep these cars alive....

I was born exactly between Neil Armstrong and Woodstock :woot:

Ahhh the summer of '69..... no air conditioning in the hospital, just a floor fan in front of the window. They actually gave my mom whiskey to relax her while in labor!!

I grew up in the 70's watching wacky ass kids shows and a guy named Evil(my idol) trying to kill himself every month it seemed like. I remember Bruce Jenner kicking arse in the '76 Olympics, Custom Vans(my parents built one in 1977 just to take to Florida). I remember wearing earth shoes, listening to Cheech & Chong 8-tracks with my older cousins, KISS everything, Bigfoot, JAWS, Star Wars and Billy Beer. I watched the 1980 US Hockey team beat Russia with my dad. I thought it was cool, but I couldn't understand why he cried at the end. Now I do!

Then came the 80's.... WOW things fipped around there. DEVO, Micahel Jackson, the first Shuttle flight, Lennon & Reagan getting shot, the wonder McDonalds Olympics game in '84!!! It was sooo cool; They made up a billion game pieces that were attached to every cup and fry container that had various event tags like MENS 100 METER, WOMENS 400 METER RELAY, MENS GYNASTICS, etc. and if USA won gold you got a free Big Mac, silver=free fry, bronze=free drink. Well since Russia and a few others boycotted the olypics at the last minute the USA cleaned house and so did my friends and I. My neighbor turned 16 that summer and had a car and we ate for free the whole summer!!

I love the 80's!!!! :headbang:

PS: I'm 35 and proud of it!!!

Hi Corey, unfortunately I do not own any GTOs. Most of the cars I own are either first gen Nova's (3 of them), first gen Camaros (2 - 68s), and a truck or 2. Oh yeah and a chevelle, a dart, a VW and a BMW (the youngest and rarest car). Man, I need to clean house.......

I'm 56, but that's going to change about a week after the election.

Recent question to self - "Why is a mid-50's guy like you sitting on the edge of the roof to clean out the gutter?"

Answer from self - "Because I still can, and that scorecard number is irrelevant, dammit!"

OK, now that some of the "relics" have posted I won't feel old. 33, I think. Born in '72, do the math. I don't know where you kids get the money. When I was mid 20's I was more worried about where the rent money was coming from then how I am going to pay for the twin turbo LS1 to get finished.

im 23, i started getting into hotrods when my aunt(ex model) was working on her 69z28 and every since i've wanted one. I helped her put in a new starter when i was 7 and i also put in a tranny line (that was a *****).

she also had a fiero with a front mounted 350 that ran 11's she used to race that thing all the time. good fun!

my earlyist memorie was watching my aunt ***** slap some dude for racering her and almost hitting her car. that was funny!

Well, I'm among the oldest I guess....I'll be 47 next month (but I don't look it.....really....everybody says so....really).

The way I look at it, I've grown wiser without growing older. I have been married twice, raised two kids and chose a career that has taken me around the world several times (although it has also gotten me shot at, stabbed, beaten, spit on, lied to, cursed and sued). Through all that I have held on to a love of great cars and driving them fast, and I have been fortunate to own a few. I think that has kept me at least feeling young (except maybe first thing in the morning).

Anyway, all of you over 40, keep rockin'. :git:
