We swapped seats from an '04 into a '66 pretty easily. The seats are nice because they are self-contained with the switches mounted to them.

I have done the front seat's in my 70 chevelle, working on the rear seat now. The rear i am cutting about 6" out of them or they will sit 6" above the rear package tray.

Here's my rear seat in my 69 Chevelle,
I cut my excess off the bottom, and I'm going to make bulges in the package tray to match the top contour of the seats

The buckets we used are from a 2004 GTO, and we had to make some mounts to bolt them to the floor, but it was not that big of a deal. The important part was to make a "cage", a steel bracket that supported the stud attached to the floor which spreads the load around in case of an impact. This way, if the car gets hit, the seat is retained by more than just the stud, and more importantly, the single hole in the sheetmetal floor. This can tear easily and the seat can rip out of the floor. Here's a couple snapshots... they're not that great, but I hope they help.

I am going to be putting 04-06 GTO seats in my 69 Lemans convertible soon. I'll keep ya posted.

I think the 05-06, or maybe just the 06, are faster moving for the rear seat access, if that is something that is of a concern (which I doubt, but I was told that when I went test driving).

I might take mine out now and look at the mounts...since the second gen fbody floor is so different i had to make brackets for them to sit on ....but the seats sit kinda high. trying to find a way to keep them power but also get them lower...

Wayne70 do you have any pics while the seat was under construction?

Rallye i did not take any other pics. The seat frame i made from 1/4" steel rod and welded to the GTO frame. Built the frame so it mount's in the factory seat mounts. Fiberglassed the area between the seat's and the upper is the box for the sub woofer.

I am doing the same seat conversion. Do you have a bit more detail on what was done in the rear and what was done for seat belts.

Thank you.

The belt's are Morris Classic Concept's. They are a sponsor on this site.
