3.5" exhaust, help me make it quiet

I have used the seach feature and have come up mostly empty handed. I have a 509 with 3.5" collector headers into a 3.5" X pipe and Magnflow 3.5" Stainless Race Series mufflers in front of the rearend (no tailpipes). I have looked at the Dynatech cones and the car chemistry inserts. Do you think one of those could help my system significantly? Am I going to have to use a different muffler? I hate to change mufflers because the car sounds so good. It is just a bit too loud. Anybody have any experience in this area? Thanks for any help.

First of all, tailpipes will quiet it down. If you can add them you probably should.
Second, as the gasses cool they have less volume, so a smaller pipe can be used. So, after your mufflers you can run a 3" pipe without reducing power. Smaller pipes also help quiet the exhaust.

Is the excessive noise in the car, or outside? If it's inside then tailpipes will make a huge difference. If it is just noisy in general then you need to do more.

It's just too noisy in general. I just don't know if I have room for tailpipes with the way it sits so low, and the shocks are relocated to inside the springs. What is your opinion on the car chemistry inserts?

I have the exact same exhaust as you and those mufflers are hands-down the quietest race style mufflers that I've heard. I have 3.5 tail pipes as well which makes a significant difference. It doesn't get much quieter than where you are now without hurting performance.

No, I don't have anything post muffler. I was considering the dynatech turndowns with the cone built in. I didn't want to turn them at the ground, though because of all the dust it blows up. I had planned to turn toward slightly down, but mostly toward the outside. I think I am going to try some tailpipes on it like GetMore said. That seems like the most logical thing to do. That is a big IF because I don't know if I can fit some in there or not.

I would build some 3" tailpipes for it. It makes it a whole lot quieter and will get rid of 90% of the interior resonance that I am sure you have right now.
