I think most people T off the oil pressure sending unit hole to supply oil to the turbos. On the side of my block above the oil filter there is a shallow hole. I once heard somebody say that hole can be drilled deeper and tapped for a fitting to feed the turbos.
Is this true?
Is that filtered oil?

if you're running an oil filter then all the oil is filtered............................... :naughty: I know what you mean though. On a standard small block the normal places are behind the intake, or above the oil filter. If you're running a remote filter there's likely a pressure port off there also.

I'm not running a remote oil filter but I am running an oil cooler in the radiator. Maybe I can tap into that?

I am running mine off the sending unit hole by the distributor. I have also heard that you can go off the hole above the oil filter or some people have used a spacer above the oil filter that had an extra port on it to feed the turbos.....or......some blocks have a port above the water pump in that small cove area that is supposed to have oil pressure.
You could prolly make a fitting to go inline by your oil cooler too if all else fails.

I used to run a oil line from the 1/4 NPT hole just behind the intake manifold at the distributor end. Its hard to get to but if you can tap into that it will work. On my car it supplied oil to a Procharger blower for years, trouble free.

Theres a port on the pass side above the timing chain cover.

Hello,
I have a 67 block, I am looking for a oil pressure port for a turbo.
I already have pressure switch and a pressure sensor on the top behind the intake manifold so I would like to avoid adding a 3rd fitting here.
I have the hole just over the oil filter as Larry said, is there a plug in there that I could remove to take some oil for the turbo? Or should I drill and tap it?
(I don't have the pressure port in the front of the engine)

Take the pipe plug out near the oil filter and there you have a source of high pressure oil, another good thing to plumb in is an accusump to keep bearings lubbed even after using a shut down timer.
LAst few cars I helped on we used metering orifice in the feed line to the turbo, also off the front of the block is a limited pressure area as you have drop over the mains, rods and cam bearings.

Thanks for your advices.
I will try to see this week-end if there is a plug in this hole and if I manageto remove it.
I will let you know.

FYI- the port by the disit is fine too. Even tho your sending units are there, remember they deadhead into the gauge and don't require a "flow" per say. But above the filter is good too.
