Hey guys I think I finally talked myself into buying new wheels for my 70 camaro. I am looking at ASA AR1 Black from www.tiretrends.com because they have exactly what I want. I think I am going with, front wheels-18x8 with 18mm offset, front tires-245/40/18, rear wheels-18x9 with 20mm offset, rear tire 275/35/18. I have a wheel fitment tool by wheel rite and I have somewhat tested this size in the front I am waiting on another floor jack to do the finally measure, I havent measured the rear yet but I think I will be ok. The only question I have is what to do about lug nuts. New lug nuts come with the wheels but I am sure they are metric thread. So now do I replace my standard wheel studs with metric or is there somewhere I can get 7/16 x 20 lug nuts for these wheels.Any help would be great.
PS. If anyone sees a problem with my wheel and tire sizes, as far as maybe not fitting in stock wheel wells or something, let me know maybe I screwed up with my calculations. I did punch the numbers at 4 am! Thanks

Glad to see my suggestion came out on top!
As for lugnuts; you prob. won't get nuts with the wheels since these are Beemer wheels and Beemers use bolts not nuts! I upgraded to 1/2" (ARP?) studs for added security and ordered some tuner style lugnuts on eBay.

Do those wheels not just use regular cone seat wheel nuts?

Apparently you can buy a floating cone nut/bolt.

You can get 7/16rh 20 acorn lug nuts from any local parts store. You will just need to confirm if the wheels have a standard lug seat, or a bulge style lug seat. Your standard acorn lugs are 60 degree conical seats.
You won't need to change your studs, most through holes are drilled to the same diameter for any stud from 7/16-12.1.5mm-1/2.
We keep all the lugs here in stock in all different sizes if you can't find what you need. They are $1ea.
Just some advice on that rear tire. Go with a 275/40/18. The 35 series will be too short.

I read that thread and it didnt help me one bit this is what it said,
" No 12 and 13 has the floating cone i mean. donīt know where to find it in usa. but the differens is very little so it will work with regular bolts. but will you do it the right way, this is the solution"
What does that mean sounds like broken english.

Do you think 35 series will be to short for stance reasons? The tires I have on he car now have a 26in overall height and I wanna stay close to that, the over all height on the tires I listed there is front- 25.6'' and rear 25.7''. Also I have air shocks so if I wanna tweak the height I can.

It's going to look too short, and the wheel wells will look far from filled. The 275/40/18 is the perfect height for the back of those cars, in my opinion.

That should look great. I was also thinking of those type wheels for my 67 camaro. Let us know how they turn out and maybe post a photo or two. I can afford these wheels alot easier than the others.
