Anybody using the Caltrac stuff for handling application. Sort of a different approach with the split spring. Bind? Any other problems??? Thanks

Brian,
I am running the caltracs bars on my '68 Camaro. I am quite happy with them overall. I haven't been on a road couse or drag strip with them yet. On the street, it hooks and handles great. I haven't noticed any kind of oversteer problems (except for a little power oversteer). The bars allow the suspension to travel, so binding shouldn't be an issue. I feel that the caltracs are a great option for a high horsepower, dual purpose car. I have Hotchkis leaf springs, and with the springs alone the car handled well, but had a bad wheel-hop problem. The caltracs solved my traction problem, and haven't seemed to effect the car's cornering ability at all. I can't comment on their leaf spring design from personal experience, but I think they are more of a drag racing thing. Hope this helps,
Andy
