I am trying to get GM part # 12577904 baffle. This is for a 6.0L 05-07 CTS-V oil pan. The 04 CTS-V is a 5.7L and there is/was no 08 CTS-V.

Today I received this message via email from non sponsor:
Part is on national backorder with GM, GM does not currently have an ETA for the part to be released. I have trying to get this part for almost 3 months...

does anyone know where I can get this part, like a dealer has it on a shelf somewhere?

I do have a complete 6.2L L92 oil pan set up, is the baffle different?

thanks

Moved to the LSx forum.

Have you asked over at LS1Tech.com?

National backorder usually means there is no stock available anywhere. With that said you can take that part number to any GM dealer and they should be able to check to see if it is setting on someones shelf. Some dealers are more aggressive then others so if one says no you may check another. It does not matter if it is a Chevy dealer or Cadillac or whatever, as long as it is GM.

They can also look up the part number for the the L92 baffle to see if it is the same, but I suspect it is not. If it is, then you are in.

Hope this helps

I work at a GM dealer in the parts department and yes the part is on national backorder and currently their isn't a supplier making the part. And not one dealer in the country has this part sitting on their shelves. Their is a follow up date of August 26th to check to see if another company has started making the part.

You can just order the oil pan and get the baffle but I'm sure you already knew that.

I originally ordered #12598152 pan with # 12577906 screen and #12611129 deflector at that time the pan did not come with the baffle.

I ordered the baffle in May but the vendor canceled the baffle in order to ship everything else. I reordered the next week as a separate item.

Is this something that now has changed? That the oil pan comes with the baffle?

Yea, according to the catelog if you order the oil pan you get the baffle, oil pan gasket, oil drain plug, and the bolts for the pan and side cover.

The pan lists for 241.58 and would have to be ordered from Michigan. Their is currently only 5 dealers in the country with the pan on the shelf.

I could get it for 176.40 plus shipping from me to you. It would take 5-7 business days for me to get the part.
