Fuel line diameter??

I am about to mount my DSE LS1 tank.. I have the S&P braided lines that go from the tank to the Corvette style filter and the braided line that goes from the fuel rail to the firewall..

Just wondering what size hard line to run in between??

Unless you are shooting for crazy horsepower, 3/8" hardline is pleanty adequate at either 45 or 60 PSI. Hope this helps.

I'd probably run whatever the fuel pump manufacturer recommends, that way you ensure that the entire system runs how it should.

haha no. 3/8" hardline is plenty but if plumbing in your fuel pump would be easier with 1/2", it won't hurt.

I dunno, I'd still check with the Fuel pump manufacturer. For example Aeromotive pumps in the 500 range specify either -8AN (1/2) or -10AN (5/8) feeds and returns (depending on the pump). Barry Grant 220s want -10an returns and -8an feeds...

500 is not crazy, just look at the stock C6 Z06 and LS7 setup. Headers, cold air intake, 160* stat and tune gets you in the 490-510 HP at the tire area on a stock pump and 3/8" line. Put 5-6 PSI of boost and you get 625-650 at the tires with the same fuel pump, 3/8" line and an electric fuel pump booster.

Plus if you are running the stock C5 fuel filter it is limited to the 3/8" line anyhow.

I have made 700HP to the tires on the stock 3/8" lines with a supercharger and running 60 PSI, so 500 is a non issue. Start talking 750+ and then dual 3/8" or single 1/2" is called for. At 45PSI, I would say 600-ish is the cutoff.

Ditto Mike's post. 3/8" is also less expensive and easier to deal with.

-8AN cross-sectional areas are actually closer 3/8" hardline due to the fitting restrictions. Many -6AN fittings have just over 1/4" diameter cross section internally.
