Okay, just wanted to say hello. I ran across this site some time ago, and after quite a while of lurking have found it very helpful and informative. After years of wishing and planning what my dream Camaro would be, I finally came across a fairly solid '67 Camaro several weeks ago. The seller had started the build (replacing quarters and floor, inner fenders, etc...) and decided to sell to finance a new investment.

The car's drivetrain is not pretty, but nice. A 408ci SBC w/double hump heads, a beefed up TH350 w/3000 stall, and 8.5" 10bolt w/4.10 and Auburn locker. A good starting point.

Anyway, thanks to this site, I found Frank @ Prodigy and today placed the first of many orders for parts to build the '67. Thanks already Frank.

Thanks.

So here are some pictures of my starting point. The plans are for a slick black body (silver or charcoal stripes) on a factory appearing black interior (adding gauges, shifter, steering wheel), keeping engine and trans (adding vintage air), gbar rear w/narrowed Moser 12bolt and truetrac (JUST ORDERED). Up front will be new a-arms, coilovers, DSE steering, etc... Willwood braking for the 18" rollers (245/40 on 8" up front and 335/30 on 12" rear). I'm still undecided on wheels right now, but my favorite look is the Fikse Profil 5s.

This is my plan, but I'm open for suggestions as the build progresses.

Glad you're here, your Camaro looks like you got it at a great starting point and you have hooked up with a solid guy with a solid reputation, Frank at Prodigy. He'll get you great deals on the parts you listed. Good luck with your build and keep us posted!

Great looking car Rod. A lot of people have started with a _lot_ less.
Look forward to seeing some build pics.

Looks like a great project. I might suggest an overdrive transmission if you plan to drive it much. I think you made some good choices all ready. The G-bar and minitub are great addtions to a car IMHO and worth it.

Ghost - Here are a couple older pics of the shop 30'x50'. The 300c is long gone. It now has Camaro inside on jackstands. NEED MORE ROOM!!!

Steve - I definately would love to have an overdrive trans (and the 6.2L engine out of my wifes new Denalli too!!!), but I'm trying to work with the Th350 for now. It won't be a daily driver, so hopefully I can live with it for a while. That way, I can complete the rest of the car now, then make those changes later.

RodRod, wouldn't it be better to just order the trans now, so you don't have to make changes to the trans tunnel or subframe, k member, etc to mount a different trans once the car is finished?

Yes you're right. It would be easier now. I just want to make the th350 work for a while. $$$ is a factor and it won't be a daily driver (more a weekender). I ordered the Moser w/ 3.73s.The thoughts were to finish the car w/ the current motor/trans, and MAYBE later put together some type of an LS combo.

So do you think I'll be sorry after the first little road trip?

I've seen several people on here w/ the TH350/400 and thought it would be fine for a while.

Thanks.
