View Full Version : Mercedes 18" wheels on 1st Gen?

I found a wheel design that I really like the look of. They are aftermarket wheels for Mercedes and I'd like to see if I can fit them on a 69 Camaro. They are 18x8.5". I emailed the seller and he says they are available in 30mm and 45mm offsets. I know I'll need to deal with the bolt pattern differences which seems simple enough but the other width/fitment issues boggle my mind. There are so many calculations and metric-std conversiona that it makes my head hurt. I don't mind rolling the lip on the rear.

Assuming my 1st gen is still running stock width rear and front suspension - can I make these wheels work on a 69 Camaro?

What is the widest tire I can run on an 8.5" rim?

I'd like to lower the stance of the car also - so the rear will be running a G-Bar and I may use the AM front-end (which I know will change the offsets and such yet again).

Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure Benz wheels are a different bolt pattern, however BMW 120mm bolt pattern will work on 1st gens with hubcentric ring and spacers.

Benz wheels are 5X112. Audi, late VW, things like that. Mustangs and Camaros are completely different.

This partially depends on the sidewall... The more sidewall, the larger the fitment range. Overall, I would not go wider than a 265 on an 8.5" wide rim.
