I just had our 7 series aligned at the dealer for the 22" wheels I have on it.

On the receipt it says " right front tire has high road force - may cause ride concern" , Any ideas what they mean?

They're refering to the kind of balancer they used... and it's a good one. The Hunter Road Force balancers spin the wheel with a roller putting force on the wheel simulating the road, not just free-air spinning. These machines detect more subtle out-of-round situations and can really help balance the wheels. That's a good shop. I wish I had one close to me!

I was told that that meant that the damage had been done already to the tire, that it had worn to accept the old alignment, and now that it was corrected was pushing back on the car.

could be wrong though

Tony may be right as well. I know many BMW / Benz dealers use the Hunter Road Force machines (they're the only ones who can usually affords them), and I've seen that report on other dealer-performed balances.

How's the tire? Does it shake?

have not drove it yet. Prior to getting the alignment done the car pulled to the right.

I'll have to take it for a raod test and see..:drive1:

The way I read it, I was thinking what Tony said. Since the Hunter balancing machine simulates the weight of the vehicle on the tire, it can also detect reaction forces from the tire as it spins. It's possible that it could lessen after some miles on the new alignment, but somewhat hard to say.

Hunter makes some nice tools: http://www.hunter.com/pub/company/overview/index.htm
