So Im sitting at a stoplight and this orange car pulls up next to me. Im looking at it wondering what kind of car it is. Then all of a sudden he hops on the freeway and mashes on it. DAMN! was all I could say. Was a 08 Challenger SRT8

Went to the dodge dealer and those tools had a 40K markup on them things but said if I wait and get the 2009 model it wont have a markup.

I think I may have found my next new car. I know I know Im a chevy guy but WOW those cars are nice!

I'd like to see it on the street first, but I guess that's not gonna happen in a while.. considering where I live. :banghead:

my neighbor just got an orange one...I was drooling over it for about an hour haha, only problem is that its an automatic... if you are gonna get one definitely wait till next year so you can get it in a 6 speed standard

My boss bought one and it is a real nice car. Drives like an SRT8. Interior feels like the newer mustangs but the seats are nicer.

I can't believe the attention it gets...from the young and old.

I wish they had kept the concept front end. I'll wait for the new Camaro.

On July 4th one parked next to my blue TBSS...all I can say is that it looks really good in person, especially the doors forward.

I like the bulk of the front, as it doesn't seem as long and, I don't know, flimsy, in the fenders and hood.

Just my opinion. I wish they made a 'Cuda, but we can't be too picky.

I finally got to see one up close and personal-like at a local car show over the weekend.

The interior is good looking I think. I like it. If the Camaro interior comes out looking like the proto's then the Challenger would have me sold. Unless of course, they really make a B-body version like i've seen sketches of lately.

I've seen the Camaro in the latest magazines.. not really impressed although you know it will do well just for the nameplate... so we'll wait n see it on the road.. but I have to say that Challenger is one excellent car, the appearance and style is unmatched! I would say a decision today would have me driving an SRT8!

I'm already tired of seeing em at car shows in the area. 4 orange ones at the last show! What's the point of even allowing a new car to enter a show anyway's??
Nice? absolutely, Show worthy? NOT

I like the new Challangers. The SRT8 is mean looking on the street. I just wish they weren't so much money. Not that I'd buy one...but I'd like to see one of our American counterparts move some product.

When I saw it in person the first thing I thought to myself was "wow what a boat".

A customer bought two dodge challengers from the dealer I work at. Paid 16k above the sticker prices for both of them.

Our local Salinas dealer only has a $10K packer on the sticker for theirs. And yes, it was probably a Challenger SRT8. I saw one at a couple of dealers and they're very cool. If only they weighed a bit less ... sigh.

I saw last night in C&D that even the new V-8 Camaro will be 3900 pounds. Challenger SRT8 weighs 4189...

Problem is too many people expect perfect quiet and comfort from their performance car...

I like the outside of the new Camaro, not a fan of the interior. Challenger looks really good in black. Cool to see them, but I won't be buying either with the price tags attached to them.

Actually, after looking at pics of the new Solstice coupe, I must say I am very impressed. Light car, with good power (260 hp turbo 4), a blast to drive, and only $28k new for the GXP w/ turbo. The base coupe is $22k IIRC.

I've seen a handful in person here in Houston. Good looking car that screams "Musclecar", but the dang cars are physically HUGE and look overweight. At a local show, a guy in his '72 Challenger parked next to one for photos, and it made the classic car look dwarfed. That isn't an easy thing to do to any year Challenger. I agree the automatic is lame too.

I'll buy a 2010 Camaro instead, LS3 with a 6-speed manual, and physically smaller.

Its simple for me. Ones a Chevy, the others a Mopar, I'll take the Chevy please!

I don't like the new Camaro. I love the Challenger. I won't buy either one though, they cost way too much.

On a side note.....

Ok, so I'm taking my family & my in-laws to Peddlers Village in PA today. On rt 29 (a local state road that winds up the Delaware River, 45mph zone, 2 lane, no passing, you know the type) between RT95 and Lambertville I passed no less than 14 new Challengers over about a 5+ mile stretch. Black, silver, red, orange, even a copper/brown, kind of like this (http://www.erinsannouncements.com/images/SpecialtyPaperMetallicBrown.jpg). Also a maroon one like a local body body has (he painted it day 1). Many appeared to have Michigan plates, but I also thought I saw PA plates on some.

Def plates like this one:

But google showed me this one, so maybe they all had MI plates. At 50mph each way this may have looked like PA plates to me.

I did not pay attention to plates the 1st few. Sorry, no pics as I was driving at the time.

One of the stranger car sightings I have ever made, lol.

BTW, the challenger looks large in the back. Not in a good way.

Bonzo, think those may have been '09 models/mules? The '08s are all black, silver and orange. Maybe road testing the V6, RT, and stickshift combos

Maybe. But why in NJ?!?!?!? I will say I believe I saw different hoods or hood graphics.

...btw, I am sneaking in web time during vacation, lol....

The Camaro mules were spotted all over the place, why not in NJ? When I was working at a Volvo dealer a while back, we got a lot of Volvo's in that had NJ plates on them, because they were actually press cars

Volvo, BMW, Benz and maybe others (subaru comes to mind) have US HQs in NJ, so we see MFG plates for those all the time.

Maybe. But why in NJ?!?!?!?

Maybe they were doing extreme horn testing, or checking the ease of driver ability to pay tolls at turnpikes? lol

It is a skill to manuver through tool booths at high speed. that tank they built ain't gonna do it smoothly, lol

Just saw a black one this morning on my way to work, hopefully its still there when I leave tonight so I can get a picture of it. Wasn't able to snap a shot of the orange one they had
