Finally got to order the parts to do a brake job on the Saturn. Ordered the parts from Tirerack, and I think the pads should be here today, rotors tomorrow. They had to ship from two different warehouses, one in Indiana and the other in Delaware. I'm stoked! I wonder how it'll feel to have good brakes again. The OEM brakes are crap on the VUE, they started warping a LONG time ago, and I only have 48k on the odometer.

Here's what I ordered...

pads: here (http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?&make=Hawk&model=HPS+Street+brake+pads&group=HPS+Street+brake+pads&autoMake=Saturn&autoModel=VUE+FWD6&autoYear=2004&autoModClar=&perfCode=S)

rotors: here (http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brakes.jsp?&make=ATE&model=PremiumOne+Slotted+Rotor&group=PremiumOne+Slotted+Rotor&autoMake=Saturn&autoModel=VUE+FWD6&autoYear=2004&autoModClar=&perfCode=S)

Sorry dude.....replacing brake pads and rotors is not PT. That is what I would call maintenence.

He's improving the braking performance of the vehicle. He plans to add some zoot to the engine as well via supercharging.

Not my 1st choice of vehicles. Heck, not even my first choice of Saturns (I'd be totally into a Sky) but he's taking a relatively pedestrian people-mover and making it better.

It's PT.

....a little odd, but PT.

I didn't buy the VUE for PT, I bought it new in '04 for a growing family. My wife (fiance at the time) was about 6 1/2 months pregnant, and the 2 cars I traded in were in rough shape. I needed something reliable, warranty, and needed room to fit a baby in. I only went with an automatic because my wife does not know stick shift, and it would be hard to drive a stick while tending to a crying baby in the backseat. Not to mention the V6 has way more power and came with more standard features.

Ok, did the brakes today, and everything went well. Didn't run into any problems. I only took pictures while doing the passenger side, but also took one picture of one of the pads from the driver side, which had COMPLETELY worn out.
