I bought a 1967 firebird a couple of years ago. I've been restoring it, and now I'm getting ready to get license plates etc. Unfortunately I've only got a bill of sale and a "new york state registration document" But I desperately need a "certificate of title" Is their any way to get that document?? Please help if I don't get the document the car is worthless... I live in Denmark/Europe by the way

many states only require a bill of sale on older cars(such as new hampshire) find someone in one of those states pay them to title it for you then sell it to you( on paper)

Thats what title co's do. and unless I hada real good friend in one of those states... i would go with a title co.

I have used Broadway title several times with no problems with the paperwork at the DMV that I recived from them.

WELL the title co's are not all they are cracked up to be. NC has started going over ALL cars 30 years or older just looking for ones with title co titles or are kit cars titled as real (i just got a visit from them!). You may want to check your local DMV to see what they want or need to title the car.

If you have a New York transferable (transferable will be written on it) registration (everything prior to 1973 had them, no titles) you have the ownership papers already. No sense paying broadway title for what you have in your possession.
