View Full Version : What to see near Kennedy Space Center?

Other than the space center? I will be there for work next week & wondering what I should see around it, if anything?

I don't know how far away it is but Kermit Weeks has his Fantasy of Flight in FL. Always wanted to go there.

Fantasy of Flight is about an hour and a half drive from KSC, We live maybe 25 min, from FoF. its a cool place, they have a Mustangs & Mustangs car/plane.show .we went there went once with the ROUSH . I'd say go see it.

Playalinda beach is in the area. Nudist beach.....

Cocoa Beach is cool to cruise through... Ron Johns Surf Shop for a shirt....

Decent fishing and Manatee watching on the St. Johns River and intercoastal waterway...

Good head boat fishing out of Cape Canaveral...

Its kinda boring in that area - exactly why I love it....

I grew up there, was always funny how you could tell the tourist, new kids... they always wore ron jon shirts. Locals avoided that tourist trap.

Well, there is always Prodigy Customs! Cololest attraction in Central Florida! Just ask 130FE about our ride along program! He stopped by today just in time to take a little "tuning run"!

Playlinda is a nude beach, but most there really should keep their clothes on!

How far are you from here (Titusville)?

I did go to Cocoa beach & cruise around there. All I have to say is they didn't grow "them" like that when I was 15-26 or so.

EDIT: Looks like you are about an hour from here. I don't get out of "work" until around 4:00, inside Kenedy Space Center.

We do not usually go home till 8 or 9. In the evenings Michael is working on his bug and I am tweaking EmptyNest. Call me for directions if you want to take a ride over. We can grab a beer after.

Well I went to Prodigy Customs tonight. Thanks Frank for the great hospitality. It was nice to meet you, Lisa & Mike.

Nice looking toys there at the shop!

Could always drop by Ecklers if your down in Titusville. They used to have a showroom with cool vettes in it back many yrs ago. I have not been down that way in ages. My uncle Joe used to help out with R&D back in the 80's during that corvette summer fad. :)

There used to be a few HUGE fleamarkets around there, I remember me, pops and grandpa scouring those things early sat. mornings looking for the hard to find car parts.

I am staying in Titusville & drive by Ecklers to get to work. I have pulled into the parking lot & looked into the store, but haven't stopped yet.

Met Scott today out in front of the VAB, had a good talk, just like all the other guys on the board, into Cars, family, and looking for th e next fun thing involving cars and family,

Well finally made it back home, it is a little after midnight.

Steve it was good to meet you too, & I agree, we are all alike & can talk for hours. I could have BD'ed with you for hours. Maybe I will make it to RTTH4 & be able to do that.
