fuel tank pick up

I pulled the fuel pick up out of my stock tank and the filter sock was destroyed.
What is a good replacement?
I don't really want to run it with nothing to pre-filter. But I need some good ideas on what to use for a replacement.

A new sock? I don't think it has to be anything special. The stock one isn't bad.

The point was the the stock sock was history, now what do I use.

I think the stock sock is one of the worst ideas GM had. Talk about a maintenance nightmare. Use an inline filter that you can readily service and get to!
