I have a quick ratio manual steering box out of my 68' camaro. I lost the receipt. :hammer: and the info that came with it.

I forget the ratio, SO is there a way I can figure it out? :box:

I plan on selling the box (watch the classifieds) and want to accurately tell the potentional buyer the details.

Any suggestions?

For the record, on Dave Pozzi's site is a method to determine ratio with a cam degree wheel.

brought back from the dead post. LOL

Anyone know how I can determine the ration without a cam degree wheel?

I just recently checked mine but that was with the system installed. Point the wheels straight ahead used board to mark line on floor, turn wheel one complete turn ( 360* ) make another mark on floor, then measure the angle of the lines on the floor and divide. I had 16* so it came out to 360* / 16* = 22.5 so 22:1 steering roughly.

Yeah I already have bolted on the new ATS/Lee 670 box and just want to know the ratio so i can sell the old box. The old box has maybe 15 miles on it....

David,

Do you happen to have any larger picture of the degree wheel on the box?

I don't think I have a larger pic, but all I did was set a degree wheel on the output shaft, its not bolted down, and bend a piece of wire to act as a pointer. The vise grip pliers hold the wire to the box.

If you don't have a degree wheel, use a protractor or you can find a free degree wheel image online.
