Can someone please inform me of the best way to replace the UCA bushings on the rear end on 87 Monte Carlo? I have read that the easiest way to remove them is to drill through the rubber, them chisel the metal liner. Is this accurate? Now what I'm am unsure about is, what's the best way to reinstall them into the rearend housing. Thanks for any suggestions anybody has.

Fastest way is to use a chisel and hammer (or air chisel) around the outer shell, this action will smash it in a bit, relieving any pressure against the axle housing. Then hit it outwards with a hammer. It then should pop right out.

I use a "c" press and buckets to put it back in.

I don't want to come off as stupid or anything, but what exactly do you mean by buckets?
