Learning to weld better.. Going to have the guys at Best In Show school me and help me improve my metal stiching since there's so much to do on the new project.

This is what came in the mail:

only around 45 lbs and it has a small internal tank for welding in the field. It's dual voltage (since my house only has 110) and the infinate voltage control.

I need to buy a tank, regulator and a small cart. Good times! lol

That is pretty sweet. How thick can it weld? Was it expensive?

It was about $1,400 but part of that higher price was the fact that it's very portable and has the dual votage and infinite voltage.

Think it's rated up to 3/8" - here are the specs.. it's more than enough for your average garage or small shop.

The MSRP price is crazy high.. street price is much lower if you shop around.

Nice! I need one of them too! My MIG welder goes all over Central Florida. It would be very nice to have it weigh less and use 110V when necessary.

I've got a couple of people wanting me to do some welding for them -- something like that would be awesome.

I don't think they plan on paying me though, so I suppose they'll have to bring their projects to me.

Portable is cool, but mine has never left the garage before. Hate to check that one in at the airport!

I have a Miller 175 that I bought for my project. I'd really like it if someone could give me a couple of quick/dirty lessons with it. I can either go get some scrap steel or something to work on so I don't make big mistakes on the car.

Anyone in the Bay Area hip to that jive?

Steve .............. Don't take this personally...but you suck. The only way you wouldn't is if you would trade me lives.:yeah: Just had to say it, some people have all the luck. (aka, skill) The Job, The Cars, The Life, don't know if your married or not but if you are, congratulations, and if not you better find her because I bet thats going to turn out great also. The only thing that would make it better would be to have a full color banner hanging in your garage depicting your car promoting a nationally well respected auto part manufacturer.

Hope you build lots of dreams with that thing for us to read about..

Cool. Welcome to the Millermatic family Steve. I have a Miller 135 and also can't weld to save my life.

By the way Parsons, I'm going to be calling you soon for some stitch-welding advice.
