Thanks, I am just glad to be finished with it. It was a lot of work but the end result is worth it to me.

looks awsome, is the whole thing custom or did you start with a factory dash?

I pulled the stock instrument panel out and filled the void. It is a custom insert that directly bolts into the stock dash with no mods done to it.

Very Nice! Ever notice that it seems to be the smaller projects that take all the time? I've spent nearly 6 hours making cornering lamps out of my aoiginal parking lights... I'm not sure why, but it seemed like something I should do.

I bet it took quite a few hours to make that great looking dash! Worth it though. Let's see some pics of the rest of the car!

It's a GM factory color from 02 called "electron blue metallic" used on the full size pu and the avalanche. That is the color I chose for the whole car. I have some pics, but remember it's a work in progress and the body is going to be finished last. I am going to try to put some more pics in VB garage later today.

Viperblue68...I just looked at your homepage and I am blown away by your interior. Did you do it yourself or did you hire the work out? Cost? Send me an e-mail as I don't want to highjack novaman's thread. Thanks.

I assume those are LED's for blinkers and high beam. Where did you purchase them at? Dash looks great.

The dash looks awesome, Nice job!! Electron blue is a beautiful color, one of the nicest blue's ever to come out of GM, IMHO. There is almost nothing sweeter than a freshly waxed EB Z06.

Yes you are right the LED are for turn signals and high beam, I bought them at O'reillys, but I've seen them at several parts houses. They are only about $5 each :headbang:

Not trying to change the direction of the thread, but check out digikey.com for LED's. You can get 10 of them for between $1.50-$5.00. They have nearly any voltage and color available. I bought the LED's for my custom dot matrix tail lights from them.

Where did you get the LED lense covers that have the chrome ring around them? Those finish it off nicely.

Looks great Novaman, I am working on a 72 and I need to do something like that to clear my roll cage A'Pillar bars. I had looked at the Detroit Speed inserts but for 600.00 I think I just might try to make my own.

Thanks for the visual idea, what else have you done to your chassis / suspension etc.

Keep up the good work

1. The LED's have that ring around them when you buy them

2. I kinda tried to guage interest in this dash about a month ago because I was thinking about building a few, but I did'nt get any response, so I did'nt think anyone was interested. PM me if you are serious and we can talk.

3. I built mine because I did'nt want to use a plastic insert and I wanted the 5" tach & speedo and the 2 5/8 oil,temp,fuel, & voltage.

I just started on this car back in August and I have already blasted and smoothed my subframe and rebuilt the front end with poly bushings and hotchkis springs. I'm going hotchkis all the way, but when $$ allows.

Thanks guys I really respect all the input from everyone on this site
