Ok, the lower windshield molding should be put on before the fenders are hung. The center attachments can be put in anytime but the outer tabs are placed under the fenders. It will not look right if they are not attached. The side pieces that go along the glass (verticle) are specific to convertibles. The windshield is shorter than a coupe. Then there are outer A-pillar moldings that are stainless also that are next to these, also convertible specific.
I would avoid buying reproductions pieces. If you are patient, I have seen all the pieces re-appear on e-bay monthly. You might have to have them polished like I did, but now they look like new. I believe that all 67-69 Bird and Camaro convertible pieces are the same except for the dulled headers for 68-69 models to avoid glare issues. If you are not sure what they look like, check out the pictures of repos on-line or take pictures at a car show.
I hope that helps answer your question.

P.S. I looked in a repo book, the long upper (horizontal) molding is different for conv. and the side windshield moldings (verticle) can be substituted with coupe pieces that are cut down to the convertible length. The mounting clips are available through places such as Rick's First Generation.
