Check with your local fire dept.. they probably already know and don't ask as many questions.

Find an autoparts store near you that takes it, or find the next household hazardous waste collection in your area.
thanks, i'll swing by the fire dept. unfortunately, the local auto parts stores only take oil, not coolant.
thanks again

As a Firefighter I'll tell you that the FD will not be much help unless they have an active haz-mat team, especially if it is a volunteer dept such as ours. We would refer you to the county Haz mat team. What in particular are you trying to find out, maybe I can run your question through our Environmental Compliance Mgr here at work.

When I was visiting my brother in law in mesa, he called the water department, or whoever handled sewage- he was told to por it down the drain, as their sewage treatment would take care of it.
That was about 10 years ago, but it may be worth a call- but maybe not from your home phone

I found a guy on Graigslist that will come by and pick up Oil and trans fliud. Everything else I take when the local VFD does their disposal day.
Around here several shops use waste oil for heat and will always take as much as they can get.

See i told you if you went to the fire dept they would be able to help, sending you to a place that takes it is a big help.
Our fire dept has a hazmat team and they take all paint ,oil, antifreeze and any other liquid waste once a year to help the people who can't find anywhere.
The Saturn dealer in our area is the antifreeze drop off and recovery center. Maybe there is one around you that paticipates.
One last resort to get rid of oil and antifreeze is the local lube place. They tell you they don't take it but if you leave it on their doorstep when they are closed and make sure the cameras don't catch you they have to do something with it !!!
