Just fired my 502 with the following setup:
MSD-2345 distributor (cam and crank position sensors)
Dropped in distributor with timing mark at 50 BTDC and pickup eyeballed to line up with sensor.
Distributor has the 10-degree advanced reluctor in it.
When I run it, it was at 8 BTDC actual with 32 degrees commanded and the crank reference set to the default of 50.
I kept progressively lowering the crank reference angle, but got all the way to 0 and still was only at 24 actual for 32 commanded.
Now what? Can I physically rotate the distributor housing one way or the other? Is it possible I installed the 10-degree advanced reluctor backwards so its 10 late?
Thanks!
Dave
