thanks alot Darrin...............the whole car show thing is kind of intimidating to me, but I've put alot of hard work and many, many hours into my car and am proud of the accomplishment of "building" an entire car

Not knocking the show , but i went last year and i was a bit disappointed...

The car show was good enough , but the swap meet pretty much sucked....AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE DRAG RACING...
thats why i went because i know INDY has some great drags at GOODGUYS Event...
THERE WAS NO DRAG RACING AT CHICAGOLAND and WONT BE THIS YEAR EITHER from what i was told at INDY.
IT WAS AT THE CIRCLE TRACK LAST YEAR....

BUT , even with all that , I'll probably still go just because i hate to miss a show when its that close!

Last year was the first year for this event, so the turnout was kind of low for a Goodguys show. Hopefully it will grow. I'll be there again.

Yeah, that's kind of a bull$#!+ rule bc I also own a '73 car. Try to register it as a '72, I doubt they notice or say anything.

hard to tell from the project pics on the DSE site. Bumper indicates a 72, but it looks like a clone Z with Turbo wheels on it. DSE calls it a 72....so who knows?

i am trying to plan on going but that is the weekend after i get back from RTTH in pigeon forge and i am suppose to work that weekend but i am trying to trade..if not i may go for a few hours after work in the morning as i am working nights that weekend..and rt66 is only abut half hour from my work..if you sneak your car in i will def come see it ..been following it on nastyz..awesome car !!

I'll be there with the 68 Vette and a Schwartz chassis with LS7 engine in the BFG Display. A customer, Randy Johnson, will be there running the autocross with his LS7 powered 66 Chevelle (Schwartz CHassis and Engine).

Spent the day at GoodGuys on Saturday... quite a few nice cars there. We were parked a few cars down from Notorious, which looks much better in real life than in pictures (typical to Troy's work, where it's hard to pick up all the details from a camera). Nice car overall. Vision was very well done, really enjoyed looking at that as well.

Reminded me of why I am not a fan of car shows though... ran into a lot of arrogant people who wrote a big check for somebody else to build their car. Note, I have nothing against those people, unless they start popping attitudes... got a lot of very cocky people out there. Maybe it's just the racer in me going "just put up or shut up".

Anyways, although being in the speedway infield is fun (and the parade laps are a blast at 90 mph), I think putting the event at the dragstrip would be a much better time. Not many cars running the autocross on Saturday afternoon (of course, keep that going as it is fun to watch). The guy in the traditional roadster was pretty entertaining (and a good driver)...

That's about it... I didn't bring a camera, so no pictures...

Marty is quite a character too !!! I'm glad he is a local here in Chicago......so I can see the his truck when it's finished.

Also met (TEDDYS CAMARO) Teddy has one of the most awesome 2nd Gens that I have ever seen.......Teddy also was great to talk to and it was very nice to make another freind from this site. It's always great to meet other guys, like Marty & Teddy, that are so into this hobby....and their cars show it.

almost forgot, met Ron (formula98) too!!

I took over 100 pics...sorry for all the 2nd Gen's, but that's what I'm building!!..here's the link......enjoy

I had a great time this weekend at the show. I spent about an hour talking with Mike from the Ring Brothers. What a nice guy.

Of course hanging out with Teddy and crew is alway's a blast. I hope you guys had a great time at greek town. Jason - my mom said you were one of the nicest people she meat all weekend. Trust me if my mom likes you, you have to be a good guy.

All and all it was a great time and i'm looking forward to next year or the next car show.
