Hello !

Now I installed the brake system, which I had questions about installation some weeks ago.

I installed:

92' C4 13" brake rotors used
92' C4 brake calibers used

New brake pads "no name"

new 1" Corvette master brake cylinder

original brake booster

The brake pedal is hard to press, not very sensitive.

It's hard to lock up the front wheels.

(Full brake power to the rear via proportioning valve)

Why this poor performance? Because of the MC diameter => original is 15/16"?

Bad brake pads?

I noticed that the brake performance is a little bit better with some warm up.

The 1" bore does supply less pressure than the 15/16" bore. That can certainly be a part of it.

The pads can make a big difference as well. Some need to heat up before they grab.

Did you resurface the rotors before you installed the pads? Most pads require a freshly machined rotor for initial break-in.

The C4 ZR-1 MC has a 15/16" bore and a dual-diaphragm vacuum booster if I'm not mistaken...is your application boosted or manual? If you are running a booster, is it functioning properly?

You'll gain some "feel" once the pads are properly bedded-in, but that's going to be tough to do if you can't generate sufficient pressure to adequately actuate the calipers. Besides, most modern street pads will have decent feel and performance from the get go for obvious safety reasons.
