Recently, I added a set of headers to my 69 Camaro. Because they almost touched the ground at the rear clamps we raised the car by approx. 1". I have GW up/low tubulars and springs that were cut when I replaced the old iron powerplant with a LS7. The springs were cut to return the car to the height it was with the heavier block. They were originally 1" lowering springs. I have DSE rear leafs, IAS Edelbrock shocks.
I have yet to drive the car but my builder states that since we have raised the car, it is more to it's "original geometry" than before and actually handles better because of this.
I hope this is the case, but I have never heard of "original geometry". The car looked great prior to the header swap, lowered and mean. The car height has not changed that much but I'm all for improved handling. What is "original geometry" and can raising a car up improve handling performance?
