Well I am back home again and ready to get my project moving again with Frank. Hopefully I have freed up enough money to get her finished before the end of the summer. I have attached a picture from Afghanistan, one of the few I have since I never take a camera anywhere. I rely on others to take the pictures. Anyway, thanks for all the emails and messages of concern over my smashed up ankle and foot. I will go under the knife next week and hopefully they install a bionic ankle (that would be nice!). So long as I can work a nice heavy clutch! Hope to see all of you at the drive-ins and shows around MD, PA DE, NJ.

Thanks guys, it really is nice to be back in civilization. I like being able to go out and eat at a nice restaurant and sleep in my bed and get a shower, you know... the simple things.
Megladon, that is actually a CH-53 tucked back in the hangar that was getting an engine change or some sort of maintenance on the engine. The CH-47 in the middle was our ride out to a god-forsaken area in Southern Afghanistan for a short job. We had just returned from the trip when a friend took this picture.

Absolutely, I was helping some Marines from the 24 MEU, as soon as I get back to MD tonight, I will post their address, there are a bunch of gearheads over there that I used to talk cars with.

Here is the address I promised earlier, you can send anything (magazines, snacks, etc) to this guy, just let him know you know me and he will get whatever you send passed around to the Marines of the 24th MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit), since all mail is thoroughly screened I would caution against sending contraband as it will not get delivered, contraband consists of any pornography (so much for our freedoms in a Muslim country), racial material, or alcohol, everything else within reason you can forward to:
Carl Zeppegno
24 MEU S-2
Unit 73855
FPO AE 09510-3855
Thanks in advance for anything you send out there, these guys are working hard and would love any reading material or snacks from home to help make the time away easier.
Regards,
George Hartwell
