I was crusing cardomain.com and was looking at some footage of them filming for Fast and Furious 4. The movie looks kinda goofy but if you look at the row of cars in the background you can see Big Red. Just thought I'd point it out. Maby we will see a quick shot of it on the big screen.

Kinda like watching porn to me, thin story line, weak plot but some exciting visual keeps you watching.

Couldnt' have said it better myself. Its "entertainment", and at about cars and car culture to some degree. Funny thing is the in-laws never know what to get me at christmas (not car people) so I've ended up with all the Fast & Furious movies under the tree in December. One year I got a "3 pack" edition, when I already had all three movies.

Glad that the original cast is back.

Its just a shame these movies encourage stupid people to do stupid things.

Other than that, they're car movies, and thats A-OK by me.

All because I ride a Harley

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-team for the ultimate chapter of the franchise built on Fast cars -- "Fast and Furious." Heading back to the streets where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert in the new high-octane action-thriller.

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him. And from convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.

The trailer suggests a much larger domestic-car participation. I like that.

Hard to tell if that was Big Red. Red '69 with stripes? I didn't watch the whole thing but it's hard to positively ID.

Anyone notice that the Chevelle had a big-ol' ballast off the rear bumper to pull the wheels? Cool car, but there's some trickery behind those wheelstands.

the camaro was also numbered like big red on its hood, and if you look close i think you can see the gold wheels. pretty sure its big red.

I hate seeing the body panels on that Chevelle all smashed up! I know it was probably a 6cyl Malibu with no floors and trunk, but it's still a 2dr A body.

It is Big Red. It was confirmed in an import magazine I saw. That car has a cult following so it was an obvious choice. BTW- I have the Silver State Classic (Nevada) VHS of the year Big Red raced (the notorious open road race where RJ Gottlieb set the record). Does anyone know if this is available in DVD format? Anywhere online?

You can get "some " footage of Big Red from their website.
They sent me a DVD of a bunch of test and in-car footage.
But , I don't think the actual Silver State Challenge video from 1991 is available on DVD.
I had my old VHS copy of the video transfered over to DVD so I wouldn't wear it out.

I'd argue a Grand National is a cool car as well, even though they kill one (and red neck it up first). In some sneak peak pics you can see it, in some pics there is no turbo hood....typical hollywood detail miss.

Would it be possible to make a copy of the DVD? I have never seen it and wouldn't mind checking it out. Thanks!

There are fairly long clips of the DVD on the Big Red Website.
I didn't pay one dime for the DVD !
They sent it to me for free !
Like a fan appreciation thing or something.
You might e-mail them .
Perhaps they still have some.

Wow , COOL !
That's the original footage from the 1991-92 VHS of the Silver State Challenge .
That car was soooo fast back then.
Hell , almost nobody went 200 mph in 1990 in a street car.
Very few still do today.
Quite a feat indeed.

Very cool vid!! The big difference between 1990 and now is that cars "capable" of 200 mph are sold off show room floors.........BUT
Big Red did it FIRST!!!!
