Tonight I was flipping through the channels and saw the Green Channel. They had a guy converting gas vehicles to electric.
He had a 67 SS Camaro with an electric motor in it. Bateries where the engine was and an electric motor where the bell housing was. They didn't show too much of the car. He drove it out of the garage with three people in it and smoked the tires. I doubt it was a screemer but it moved pretty good. Did any one else see or hear of this before?

I saw some thing on TV a few weeks ago about a company that is building electric Cobra replicas. I cannot remember the performance, but it was supposed to be very good.

Not sure if you've heard of Tesla Motors, but they are now selling a production electric sports car that is supposed to do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. That's pretty damn impressive if you ask me. Not sure what they will be selling for, but it seems like a cool idea. Oh yeah, here's their link: http://www.teslamotors.com/

They have some cool stuff out there. I'd like to get into it but i'll wait till they get the battery issues figured out.

Tesla motor cars is around the corner and I'll have an inside guy starting work there soon. Interesting stuff.

Inside guy? You mean a spy? You peaked my interest. By the time I'm done with my project I won't be able to afford the gas! If I have to add the batteries I'll hold off on the mini tubs!!

The Tesla car is cool but damn $$$$$. The Cobra on the same show (Supercars Exposed) was doing burnouts, looked like fun.

No joke, it'll be $10 a gallon by 2010.

The Teslas (Lotus Eliese body )are going for $109k each. Wonder how much a cheaper base car would be?

You'll still need them tires for the 2000 ftlbs of torque.

Well the battery is 900 lbs and can be configured flat so you can break it up in sections and put a part of it in the trunk and the rear of the floor pan. If you can get that weight low its good. The motor itself weighs around 200lbs and is about the size of a powerglide trans. Like to see a decel charge system but the technology is getting better.

It would be an interesting project.

A Cobra body would be nice too.
