how do you polish your wheels?

after sitting in the shop for 7 months my polished wheels look a bit dull :sick:

I never polish my wheels, I give my little sister a blue microfiber towel and a can of Mothers Billet. In about an hour or 2 the rims are done. Thats her designated car job.

After using polish by hand or power, use some spray detailer like Final Inspection to help clean up. It will help eliminate the gooey black residue that tries to dry on in the corners.

Also remember while polishing to go with the grain of the aluminum like you would with wood. Say that 10x fast....

Be sure to never use a product that has ammonia in it. Ammonia speeds up the dulling process. Most products don't have it, but be sure the one you use doesn't.

Wow, look at you sounding like a wheel guy!

I use Mothers billet polish, and after rubbing it on, with the grain of the wheel with a foam applicator, spray on to the wheel detail spray and wipe it clean with a micro fiber cloth. Remember, never up and down the spokes, but side to side with the grain of the wheel! They are turned that way in the lathe, so you are working with the grain. :drive:
