So i have the c6 zo6 brake on my 79z and with those you need to spend alote of money on wheels so they fit O.K so thats what i did talked to alote of ppl and went with the Forgelines after putting the front end together I found out that the top to ribs on the caliper hit the bolts on the wheels https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2006/08/madgo-1.gif all this money and need to trim the top of the calipers to make them fit. Just wanted to let you all know about this so you dont get smacked in the face like i did https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/09/blush-1.gif

did you use an 18+"? did you tell them 1.69" caliper offset plus .125 clearance? if you did i would be pissed and i would make them make it right. if not, that sucks and im sorry.

It's hard to tell from this if it's the fault of Forgeline, who measured the wheels or who ordered the wheels.
Is the wheel EXACTLY the same specs as on a C6 Z06? I know in my case they weren't.
What you needed was a deeper pad and a slight change in offset.
Ask forgeline if the ti bolts and jet-nuts provide more clearance, doesn't look like you need much. Just an idea.

I had all this cleared with Frank at the prodigy, He talked to forgeline and was told that it would work. Iam not holding forgeline or frank for this but would have thought that it was going to work. the only thing that i can do is trim the top of the caliper and get the clearance that i need. from what i can see its not that much.

Call me tomorrow and lets talk to Forgeline. We need to review the buildsheet and see if they left the full pad on the wheels. They sell a lot of Corvette wheels, they can clear.

Or add a tiny 1/16th or 1/8th inch hub-centric spacer. If Forgeline made a mistake I'm sure they will take care of it. I've always gotten top notch Customer Service from them.

small spacer should take care of that.

BAER can also make a thicker hat.
It looks like the nuts are hitting the caliper. Does the spoke hit?
Use Jam nuts and shorter bolts??

Or maybe a 12pt (ARP) flange nut with a smaller overall OD?

Hey Brandon, the 3 MM spacer is on the way and should solve the problem. But the ultimate problem is not with the wheel, but with the purchase order for the wheel. In other words it is 100% my fault.
Apparently, in reviewing the build sheet on the wheels, I did not specify the 06 ZO6 brakes on the PO even though you and talked about that.
All Forgelines can be built to clear those brakes, and we do it eveyday. It just requires the guy sending in the PO to specify that. that guy being myself this time.
So in the end, if something more drastic then a spacer has to be done to get the clearance we need, it lays on my shoulders and new wheels will be built.
Whatever it takes to fix it will be done. Just let me know,
You know my number
Sorry.

I used the BRP mount kit that comes with the motor mounts and th etrans x-member. I like the kit cuz you can position the engine as far back as you want or can and drill for the stands. as for the wheel ya it sucks but Frank is taking care of me so no worry.

That would be a good question to call and ask Frank about.
