Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been participating much lately but I've been tied up in opening our new shop. I spent a lot of time searching out my options for a group of partners to push my business to the next level.

The shop now has a new name and location;

ROAD KILLER KUSTOMS
265 Willie West Road
Canton, GA 30115
770-720-4040 (shop + fax)
678-637-8552 (mobile)

We officially opened our doors last month and we are soon to be packed out with a waiting list. Our specialty is (of course) pro-touring cars, but we really can do about anything. Our painter just had one of his recent paint jobs published in the January issue of Super Rods (41 Willys - Wizzard of OZ) and our final assembly partner was involved in the fabrication/wiring/plumbing of the car.

We now realize that we are in need of some additional professional talent. So, what better place to start our search than where we know a lot of talent exists; RIGHT HERE!

We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the building of pro-touring and g-machines with emphasis on final assembly including fuel injection, electrical, drivetrain, etc. Do not apply if you are not self-motivated.

Please mail or fax your qualifications to us as soon as possible. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. The contact person will be Marty Griffith (69camaro638 from this site) who is in charge of operations.

PS
We are in the process of having a new website built to showcase the shop. I apologize for not having my website updated, but the new site will be linked and will replace my old site.

Congratulations Dave! Y'all have had a heck of a year relocating the home and business! Have to swing by and check it out. So I recall you saying that it's between Canton and Cartersville off 20? I'll have to map quest the address. We go over to my sister-n-law's house in Carterville all the time…. we probably drive past the new home and shop!

Congratulations David!!! I can't wait to see what you guys come out with. If I was self motivated, I'd apply, but I think too much. Plus I like my "California accent".

Yeah same here, congrats david.

A cali accent wouldn't be bad. How about calling Florida and getting someone with a Jersey accent :icon_razz :icon_razz

Congrats! I would apply but I think I would get sleepy commuting from NE Ohio  Does the job pay enough for me to fly there and back home everyday?

Wyotech been ther done that it sucks! I think I might have gotten dumber while i was there. there are so many idiots there it is hard to get anything done! No offense to you ROBM but if I had my own shop I wouldn't hire someone from wyotech unless they could prove they knew what they are doing! Because that school doesn't teach you much real world stuff! I worked at a body shop before I went to school there I should have stayed home it was a joke!! I work for Kenny Davis Hot Rods now and I don't think I have used anything I learned there!

i have some work experience in the automotive field...as for wyotech sucking your the only person ive ever heard say that...i could go into a facility like that with out any teachers and probably learn a thing or two on my own just playing with all of the amazing tools they have. i dont see how you can learn nothing from a school like that. Did you pay attention? any way the fact of the matter is no reputable shop hires people who have no education so even if i dont learn any thing at least ill have it on my resume so i can get a job where ill relearn every thing the right way :hmm: by the way what classes did you take there? and what campus were you on?

im sorry looking back on that post i sounded kind of like an ass...i was just cought off gaurd by that post...so what school should i go to to learn somthing. i want to build race cars or high end street rods/ pt cars. i also want to learn body work as a trade so i have somthing to fall back on.

The school is very basic they show you some stuff that would be good for someone who doesn't know anything about what they are doing! I did some body work before I went out there and everything they told me was stuff I had already learned. As for the chassis fab course it is ok it goes over some good suspension stuff and a lot of welding! That school cost me 23,000 after room, board, and schooling. Why don't you PM me and we'll talk! I would just hate to see someone spend as much money as I did and not get anything out of it! Believe me it is not what it is cracked up to be!

! That school cost me 23,000 after room, board, and schooling.

that seems to be the going rate for the "well-known" schools. personally i went to a local community college on a full-scholarship for $6000 and there was money left over at the end. the school that i went to is rated #2 in the country academically for there automotive programs. they have factory support from gm, ford, chrysler, and honda. you dont need 2 million dollars worth of fancy equipment if the teachers dont know anymore than how to operate it. i worked with a graduate of wyotech and all he did was brag about the campus and equipment but barely knew how to do brakes. personally i was not at all impressed. just my .02 on wyotech.

I am right there with you Kevin! When someone tells me they went there i just laugh and say I'm sorry! It absolutly the biggest waste of money I have ever seen! The biggest problem is they will pass anyone! if you don't know how to do something an instructor will come hold your hand so you can pass! The bottom line is when you don't pass they loose money because they do not charge you to take the course again if you fail! The instructors get docked money if all there students don't pass!!! Hell I did some of the projects for other kids in my class!! (more than once)! It is a joke and if had my own shop I would seriously think about who I hired from that school! :firefire:

well im just going to make the most of it and prove my self with my work. i went through a high school taking pretty much all shop/machining and engineering/drafting and i had a few classes ment for idiots and basicly i made the most it by really trying to pick my instructors brain and ignoring the idiots. when i go looking for work ill just show them what im capable of i gues.

I'm in marietta, i currently attend chat tec and im with u guys, the automotive program is alright, but it wont let u walk straight into a shop and be the badass. I'd love to work for these guys but honestly i dont think im ready. Ive built some stuff, but i need to take another welding and fab class, probably at north metro, and then hone my skills a little better. I can do engine builds no problem, but i know i need work on my fab skill. Too bad you couldnt hire an "apprentice" type position, because i swear you learn ten times more by watching and stuff than you do sitting in class. I can weld a little, but i still need to learn some of the tools. who knows, maybe ill use this mopar project as my learning project and then maybe i could help out? id love to work there. Ben Price is a good friend of mine and he's helping me out.
