I do remember seeing that belair posted up here once, perhaps under the projects forum. That front bumper x 2 is pretty unique.

...and I never get tired of seeing Big Red! Even if it looks like somebody's closet! lol.

I really dig the 62... in fact just about the only thing I dont like is the tail light treatment.

Dont get me wrong, I think it was executed very nicely. It is just to me, the tail end of the 61's and 62's are gorgeous and dont need to be touched. About like trying to manipulate the body lines on a 65 Riv.

Yea.. but still they dont hurt the overall aesthetic.

and not only that.. just the fact it was a bubble 62 you dont see ANY done in this streetfighter fashion..

i absolutely love it..

Although add though.... what he did with the front bumper and the rear bumper filler panels is absolutely killer.......

Big Red is still one of my favorite Camaros ever. I think I still have the original Hot Rod or Car Craft article from the mid 80's where I first read about it. If I remember correctly, it went over 200 MPH top speed in the Silver State Challenge back then, spanking pretty much everything out there. Awesome car!

Seems like Rocketman was right according to wikipedia:

"Big Red" was built in 1987 by RJ and Dan Gottlieb on a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro for open road racing. The original car was destroyed in an accident in the La Carerra road race as the chassis were unable to handle the high power output. The second car was built with a spaceframe tube chassis. Big Red was retired to a car museum in Laughlin, Nevada in 1996, and was revived for racing again in 2004 with a complete overhaul and restoration of the entire car[5]."

love the bubble top but that car doesnt need those tail lights, I would have put that time into a cage. Ive seen a few of those cars done up as drag cars and they look killer

Here's a link to the Big Red site. Has a good story and a lot of info. It might not be up to date though.

I saw the Bel Air at the goodguys show in Ft. Collins CO. It has an LS7 and is done right. He had build pics and it was jammed red before it was jammed blue, It is not even finished and It was my favorite car there. I like the taillight kind of update the car.
