Years ago I was trying to save some money so I bought loose bannanas wrapped in plastic for less than if they were on the bunch.
It was winter and cold out. When I got home I pulled out a knife to cut away the plastic and out popped a half dead tarantula like that one. Luckily he didn't dig the cold weather. They go pop when stomped on and make a helluva mess.

I HATE SPIDERS.
So do I, but I don't run from the buggers. I usually wind up wearing them on the bottom of my shoe. I'll bet this one would have "popped" real nice.

Where do live? hopefully not around me...I'd freak if I found that!
I'd scream like a little girl as I run for the flame thrower(WD40 and a lighter).

That looks like the elusive african barking spider. They usually hide under grandpa's chair in the living room, and make their presence known with a bark from time to time.

More power to you & have fun cleaning the mess. I'd rather fight with a rattlesnake in my livingroom before I f*** with that.

You guys are funny. I know that sound when you stomp on them, I did that when I was a little boy in the back yard. It grossed me out when I did it. Ka-splat!! Goo all over my shoe.
I live in a town called Ramona, just 20 miles north of San Diego.
I used a dust pan and a piece of paper to coax it on it and it stuck its rear end up really high like stink bug. Thought that was kinda weird. At least they don't run fast or he could've leaped on to my hand. Then you would've probably seen me act like a lil girl too!! LOL
My wife wasn't home at the time this happened and when I showed her the picture she freaked out! Now she is afraid to walk in the dark.
In the past two months we have had 4 scorpions and now this stupid thing. I looked all around the base boards and doors for cracks and cant find anything. I'm beginning to think they are hitching a ride on my dogs backs when I let them at night? LOL

We get Huntsman spiders in the house all the time, specially in summer, they tend to stay away in winter :)
No this is not me in the pic...

Gives you an idea of how big they can get. On average we see them about 4" leg tip to leg tip. They either end up on the wrong end of a rolled up paper or thong (sorry flip flop) or I catch them and let them go (depends on the size).
They are funny when they get up on tip toes and walk on the floor. Oh did I mention these things are FAST and can jump like you wouldn't believe!
My wife hates spiders, I can't blame her, I don't mind them too much, but would rather not have them about.

You want to see something really scarry? Put the tarantuala(sp) in a clear drinking glass let him get close to the top and see if he will use his fangs to hold on to the rim of the glass. They have about 1/2" long black fangs that look like mean ass rattle snake fangs. A lot of people don't mind them till they see those.

My cousin's husband used to work for Aldi's warehouse (the grocery store chain) when he was younger. He told me that they had a giant tarantula like that come in with a shipment of bananas. Someone sprayed it with this glue stuff they had lying around and it basically crystalized the spider into a block almost like quartz. They put it on the bosses desk. ;)

Looks like you just invented the Ramona CA diet, if I saw that there's no way I'd be going back into the kitchen!

I used a dust pan and a piece of paper to coax it on it and it stuck its rear end up really high like stink bug.Actually I read when they do that, their rear part with all the hairs will shoot/spray the hairs out and supposedly it will irritate the hell out of you especially if it gets in your eyes.
