Wsup

Just hooked up my hooker headers to my 70 (350) chevelle. Now Im looking a good set of mufflers. I used this as a dailey driver also so nothing too too loud. I will perfer more of a deep sound like a mustang times 2. Those cars has the best sounding un-modified exaust systems!! IMO

Thanks

Why not use factory Mustang mufflers?

Magnaflow, Dynomax, and Gibson are good choices. Stay away from Flowmasters if you don't want too loud. Data shows them to be more restrictive then their sound indicates. Have had three friends dissatisfied because they were too loud and on one friend had an internal baffles break on two occastions (didn't learn the first time) ending up in a rattle to go along with the annoying resonance.

Which series of from the three do i pick? Also how does it work. The lower the series number the more aggresive sounding the mufflers are??

thanks

This isn't the best sound clip, but I love my magnaflows...

For a DD, I'd give the Dynomax mufflers a listen. I have them on one of my '64s and they are very tame except when I'm really on it.

x2 on Dynomax, Magnaflows would be my second choise.

STAY AWAY FROM FLOWMASTER. Good God, I made that mistake on my DD '96 Caprice. :pat: Even with their 'lower interior resonance' Delta Flow 40 series those muffs drove me up the wall after the 'novelty' of the new exhaust wore off. :banghead: I Dynomat'ed the car, and it was still a struggle to hear what somebody is saying in the back seat. And that is WITH the cats on the car and an x-pipe. I'd hate to know what it sounds like without the cats.

Now the LT1 and 4L60E are on their way into my Nova... waiting for Speartech to get done with my harness...

x3 for Magnaflow. I had a flowmaster on my 4Runner and it was too loud for my taste and ended up bulging out after 1 year. I replaced it with a Magnaflow 3 years ago and it gives it a nice deep mellow sound and is holding up very well. I'll be putting them on my first gen Camaro when it's up and running.

Dynomax Super Turbos. Great street mufflers for a great price.

I've had Flowmasters and Magnaflows. The Flows lasted about two weeks before I had them removed and sold them for half of what they cost.

Go to the muffler MFG's websites. They all have sound clips there.
