View Full Version : Which tie rod end is the inner?

On GM, is it the inner or the outer tie rod end that's reverse threaded? I took mine apart and tossed it all in the parts washer without checking.

The inner is usually longer, on front steer cars, the inner has the zerk on the side, where the outers have the zerk coming out of the "cap".

I want to say sandard thread are outer and inner are reverse but I am not positive. I can check tonight if no one else answers.

On the ones I just installed had the fitting in the caps on all 4
