Talbon sunbeam with a ford yb cosworth engine
Sport spec on it
It's pro touring in a more european style whit a turbocharged four banger.

It's running around 540bhp for this year, a little up on last year, but the main differences are in the rev band. It's running the same short stroke bottom end as I use in my own car which means 9000rpm upper limit. As it comes on boost at 3800rpm it gives a HUGE power band which is essential for hill climbing and sprints where the car normally competes.

Mike, we had to change to the K&N due to technical issues with the ITG. Normally I have the ITG filters made with an internal plastic mesh to keep the foam cylinder rigid, however due to lack of room this was left out of the foam which promptly resulted in the filter collapsing on boost! Hence for now we're running the K&N until we can find a better solution.

I have no clear photos inside the rear arches, but in essence we trimmed the outer skin to the inside radius of the extended arch and then extended the inner arch to meet with the trimmed outer skin. The arches are aluminium and then rivoted onto the trimmed arch. This gives room for 10 inch wheels and up to 260mm wide tyres. Incedentally we had these new alloy arches made 1 inch wider than normal Group 4 lotus arches to give us some extra room.

Well Talbot was part of the chrysler group. In fact many of them had chrysler badges. Its very likely they sold rebadged versions over there.

A 540bhp cossie engine......nice and laggy but plenty of poke when its 'on'. A good friend of mine has one approaching a similar spec. Stock internals at the moment though.

First thing I thought was it was a European version of a GLH. Pretty cool car. I dig it. Good luck to your friend in the competition pagani

But we didn't get any two doors did we ? I know no glh cars were built but I can't remimber even the normal mom and pop versions in two door .Kind of cute in a vw golf sort of way.

You could get them as a three door or five door.

They are rear wheel drive, I used to rally against them back in the day with my Vauxhall HSR Chevette...similar idea, slant four (half a V8) with a Lotus designed twin cam set up and twin webers.

A lot of the big European car makers back then made "rally spec" cars, the Talbot "Lotus" Sunbeam, the Vauxhall HS/HSR Chevette's, Ford Escort Mexico/RS, Lancia Stratos, Mini Cooper.
