Hey everyone, So I finsihed the Chevelle a couple months ago, and have been slowly putting some miles on it tweeking things and working out the bugs. Well today I took the car out and took it on the highway for a nice long highway speed drive. When I pulled back into the shop I noticed a squeling sound coming from the driver rear. I thought maybe the rear brakes need to be shimmed, I'll do it tommorow I said. Well Rupp and I are driving down together to a show at the seaport tommorow(Fathers DAy) So I went home and that voice in my head said go back to the shop and look into it some more. So thats what I did. Long story short, I Checked out the rear pads and everything looked normal put still the squealing. Pulled the rotor off and a mess of bolts and hardware came out with it. It seems that one of the retainer nuts came off and wiped out have the internal parking brake parts. I checked the remaining bolts and they were way to easy to break loose. This is my fault but could have lead to a disaster causing the car to loose and axle and potenially kill someone or myself. I just want to stress to everyone ( Check ur Bolts as many times as possible and to Locktight everything) I have a good habit of doing this but must have neglected doing it here where its most important. I removed all the parking brake parts till I can get new ones for now.Thats all for now folks! Be Safe, Be Smart and most importantly Have Fun!
