CodeRed told me I needed to check out some of the cars over here. :jawdrop:

My name's Adam. I'm a car guy at heart. If it has wheels and an engine I'll find a way to take it apart. I have a '78 Pinto Cruising Wagon, Jade Green in color (or it was at one time...) I call her "Spare Parts". It was my first car and a daily driver for a few years. I picked it up off my uncle for a song with intents on finishing his 2.3T Pinto project. After a lot of research, I found that the 2.3T wouldn't make the power I wanted to put down, safely and dependably. I decided to upgrade to a '89 HO 302. And that's where she stands for now.... in parts and pieces.

When I had told CodeRed of my idea to turn the car into what Ford SHOULD have made: bigger brakes, engine, smoothed lines, tucked bumpers, better handling, etc he knew I would dig this site. I must say, he was right.

Scan of an old photo taken back ~June '99:

Few weeks back after getting the old rotors replaced. (I need spacers before I can mount these).

Top white stripe was the pinstripe.
Bottom white stripe was the original door molding I stripped off due to some light surface rust starting to get out of control.

Past few years have been all about getting the parts together.
So far:
'89 302
ECM
Engine harness
T5 V8 5spd
Replacement hood.
Replacement rear hatch
'05 Mustang V6 wheels (16x7.5)
11" 5lug rotors
big brake caliper brackets
GM Metric calipers
8.8" rear
'96 Mustang V6 rear brake calipers and brackets.
'03 RSX Type-S seats (needed something narrow, but full fold/slide forward for access to the rear seats, and they were cheap)

Adam,

Welcome to the site. You may be our only Pinto guy, so be sure and post pics as you go.

You should read Tony Rapin's (trapin) thread on getting his car to the RTTH 4 event in September. It's about getting the car done and driving. Have fun with the re-assembly of your car!

This one?

I'm checking it out right now.

I know I won't get it done between now and then. Between my wife, job, college and house I don't have much free time.

Wow, I read through all 11 pages. So what you're saying is, is I should lock myself in the garage until the car is done so I don't knock up my wife? :naughty:

Yeah, I checked out that Chevette. Looks like it is going to be sweet if he can get the wiring sorted out.

I'm in the Dayton area.
