I'm swapping the rear gear on the 12 bolt. I'm having a problem installing the pinion flange on the pinion gear. It won't slip on. I have tried 2 pinion flanges neither work they both slip on the old pinion easily. It's a brand new U.S. Gear. The splines look fine on the pinion. But it's a real tight fit. I feel like I might need to bring out the BFH. to in stall this. I called U.S. Gear, the tech said that all the gears come from the factory with some type of coating on them. Any tips on what I need to do?

It's on there pretty tight. I know to disassemble, you take the pinion nut off, and then you whack the pinion shaft real good with a hammer like 10 times before it comes flying out the case. I assume then, you'll need to whack it to get it back on

I understand it might be tough to remove. The installation should be snug maybe a little tight. I think that I might try to press the flange on the pinion while its out of the rear.
Any thoughts on this.

Fixed it.
It now fits nice and snug.
