Being that fuel prices will be more expensive tomorrow than they are today I was just wondering how many months it is possible to save gasoline and still have it usable?

With something like Sta-ble (SIC?) it will last a lot longer.

I'm not sure, but does the rise in oil have someone thinking of hoarding fuel?

I'm filling all my lawn equipment and then screw the landscaping. When it hits $5 I'll still have 10 gallons or so at $4. :bananna2:

If you guys want to skip the hassle of storing gasoline, you could call your broker and buy some oil/gasoline futures. That way you could lock in a price without having to store it yourself.
As for storing it in a 25 gallon container and building a stand, that sounds like a lot of work to save $25-50.

Might be worth it if you already have the tank but its not very safe. Besides, how long will 25 gallons last?
There was a report of a guy catching his condo on fire. He was storing several 5 gallon fuel tanks in his car port.

Back in Desert Storm days, Early 90s. I was a little paranoid fuel may go out of site. We figured it could break the $1 mark! So we filled a 1000 in ground tank that was on the property from the previous business.
Then we bought fuel around our storage fuel waiting for fuel to go up. After 6 months we realized fuel was not going to break a $1 so we started using the fuel in the tank. It took 2 years to drain, it was fine,

I thought you could only do that in certain areas of the country. When you want to get gasoline do you first go to your broker to get the cash the gas is worth and then go buy some gas or do some gas stations have some kind of card to do that?

you'll have to check your local authorities as it varies state to state...im not sure 25 gallons will apply.
