I just wanted to know what everyone is doing with covering the wide DSE or homebuilt minitubs out there. I've seen a couple of solutions. One is that some simple cover the tubs with a vinyl or fabric that matches rear seats, but back seaters lose their armrest with this option.
I've also seen someone cut a rear panel and widen it to fit, but how do they deal with the filler strip? How do they get it to match? Do they cover the entire panel with vinyl or leather or what?
thanks,
I would love to see more photos

I am interested in this too. I do not have a rear seat and need to finish that area off.
Maybe Steve can post some pics of the rear seat area on Penny and describe how it was done.

I just installed my back seat with the dse kit and with a small mod to the back of the seat it covers perfect.

I understand what needs to be modded on the seat. How are you handling the inside quarter door panels?

They fit the same as before the tubs where installed with no modifying.

The only modifications that need to be done are some simple clearances to the seat frame, both upper and lower halves. You can even reuse the existing covers.
Nothing needs to be done to the quarter trim.

Steve posted this on one of his threads after I asked. I hope he doesn't mind me reposting because his link is dead.

What are they doing here at DSE on Earnhardt's camaro? It looks like they're trying to cover the tubs.

That car doesn't employ a back seat at all. Its all custom stereo, speakers, bars, etc. I don't think that they wanted a back seat in it when they designed it.
