Looking to do wheels & tires in the fall, I know it can be a long process so looking to gather info now.
These are my options, and thoughts on each.
Nitto NT555 in 295/45/18
-Hardest to fit
-Best for street use & handling purposes
-More expensive 18" wheel (18X9.5 or 10)
Mickey Thompson 295/45/17 Drag Radials
-Easier to fit
-Not as good for street use
-Less expensive rim (17X9.5)
-I've heard they are on huge backorder
M&H 275/50/17 Drag Radial.
-Easiest to fit
-Not as good for street use
-Cheapest rim (17x8 or 9.5)
Last resort would be a 255/50/17, but I would like at least a 275 width tire.
Stock type rear suspension with lowering springs. I'm not opposed to rolling the lip if needed. Will run 17"s up front.
I'm not sure if the rear wheel tubs/housing is the same as a Chevelle, or other A-Body. I'm told they are slightly smaller then a 70-72 Cutlass though. I'd love to run the 295/45/18 Nitto's, if I know they will fit. Any experience with this?
I want the tire to be tucked up in the wheel well. I don't really like how they look when perfectly flush with the body.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
Thanks,
Nick
