In a higher range car, does the dash treatment affect value? If I spend 1K on DSE dash and gauges can I reasonably expect to get at least 1k more than what the car would go for with a stock dash?

I would think so.

I would think it depends on the car, a PT car with a lot of custom features a DSE dash would certainly add more value to say a concourse resto project.

Good point, the car I'm talking about has DSE frame, quadralink and is minitubbed.

i honestly doubt it will bring the $1000 more. PT cars (even high dollar ones) are felling the hit right now. Check the classifieds and ebay, the sales are flat.

The key word is right now....on a top shelf resto mod a stock dash is a no no. Instrument cluster is a huge part of the car.

You can't really compare an old stock dash to a new DSE. By that I mean if you are spending this much money on the car you would also refurbish a stock dash if you went that route. So the difference would be the $1000 you spent on the DSE and you can wrap up a lot of money in stock dash in depending upon it condition. I spent about $1100 or so on my DSE dash while redoing my stock one was going to cost around $700, which made it a pretty easy decision.
