Any 'new or innovative' heat insulators/materials or tips or tricks for insulating wires (spark plug, sensors, starter, etc.) that run real close to headers and extreme heat areas.
Currently using a insulated foil type wrap secured with zip ties. Works ok, hard to keep 'pristine' looking, and I loose the odd zip tie from heat. Recently melted the fusible link connector (not the link~the connector) from the starter. It became a hot blob and an interesting electrical problem to trace hidden from view.
Anything better out there? Was thinking a silicone sleeve tube that would snap over wires would work great. (Like those silicone gloves you can grab hot steal with.... but in tube form?) Damn hard to wrap zip tie and get at some wires and keep them out of heats way!
So lets hear tips trick ideas or innovative materials. How do you guys keep those wires hidden, clean, in position and not molten...
Thanks!
